The General Public affected due to Ethnic Violence, Terrorist Activities, Civil War, Communal Violence and related activities are entitled to compensation with regard to the damages caused to their properties including vehicles.

This scheme has covered the incident since July, 1983 and operates since 16th February, 1996 according to the Circular No. MRR/COM/GEN/83/95/01 dated 16th February, 1996 and 15th July, 2009 (amendment).

Maximum Amount Payable is Rs.100,000.00

  • Estimate Report (Building, house, household items/ vehicle/ fishing equipment)
  • Letter certified by the Divisional Secretary (If no other family member obtains compensation)
  • Copy of the National Identity Cards - applicant and the dependents
  • Voucher (General 35)
  • Details of Bank Account
  • Land  Deed/ Permit/ Business Registration of the Vehicle or Fishing Board

These documents should be certified by Grama Niladari and Divisional Secretary forwarded to the Rehabilitation Authority.
